Finally found the time to renew the certificate (without beeing ripped off by my provider). Did the manual, DNS TXT record based method.
Still, i want to change the hosting provider, because it seems to be quite slow and unreliable loading the highscore pages.

--------

Is it not possible to make this forum

https://www.blockout.net/forum/index.php

and the main webpages

http://www.blockout.net/#blockout.net
https://blockout.net/blockout2/

work on https without getting warnings ?

Some browsers block these links and give warnings.

Is it a money issue?

Can we set up a go fund me or something ?

Let's make this game more accessible to the general public.

Regards
MagI

Argh. The certificate expired once again.
Longer lasting commercial certificates are very expensive.
I just need to regularily renew the certificate.
Please - dont hesitate to sent me an email to let me know of any issues with the website / score uploads / fake scores.
That way i can fix the problems sooner.

Maybe it's less work to set up Let's Encrypt for your domain :-)

I had a webpage on http some years ago and all I did was to log in to my server
and I just check a https box and it has been https since then.
Never cost me anything.

Maybe move to another server that provide free https ?

yes, i should move to another provider. thats a todo for later this year.
my current provider deliberately deactivates features that makes it easy (like letsencrypt or the comfotable way via cpanel). no wonder: my provider was aquired by godaddy - and they sell expensive certificates :-(

hence i have to do it manually via https://github.com/acmesh-official/acme.sh
but the renewal failed for whatever reason.
will try to fix it at the weekend. and then think hard about moving to another provider (like ionos.de ).

thanks for the headsup.
