Videos of your fingers while playing Blockout...?

This may sound like a stupid idea, but: what about uploading a short video of your fingers typing on the keyboard during a Blockout II game?
I find it a little difficult to place the camera so it can capture both hands, but I\'ll give it a harder try.
Another option would be to put the camera behind/beside you and capture both the finger action and the computer screen.

In my opinion this is an excellent way for the top players here to demonstrate they can actually play like that!!
You know, some people will look at those extra-high-scores with suspicion... so just *show* us how your live playing looks like!

Like this? Link to Blockout II Video on YouTube
It took some trying to get a decent score,
somehow it\'s not the same with a camera looking over your shoulder.
And I\'m afraid the camera didn\'t cope too well with the LCD brightness.
As for fingers moving on the keyboard, it looks more like twitching.

I\'d really like to see a video like that from our new champion,
also with a clock in the video for reference,
showing that the time on his computer isn\'t running slow or anything...

That is a cool video - thanks!
So you also use just one line of the rotation keys like me?
I never managed to use both of them.

Though I think no one is in the position to suspect on high scores, unfortunately there is at least one way (possibly more) to fool the game timer and create fake scores that seem completely legal to the verification procedures.
So, for the time being, these videos are the only way for top-scorers to demonstrate playing skills.

Post edited by: scblockout, at: 2011/04/24 05:24

Yes, ASD rotation only. And I use all 8 movement key on the numpad.

BTW, did you notice that in the detail statistics, the scaling for the \"Instantaneous BPM\" graph goes 0-25-50-75-100 for almost all players, except one, where it goes 0-50-100 and then some headroom (120, I guess), because in the end, his rate exceeds 100 bpm?
I find that strange, but not knowing how this graph is calculated...

OMG.
Do you think thay anyone who playing faster than you is a cheater? Look at place 21 in OOC. andu make 50 bpm too in october 31 2010. Why do you not then drew the attention? he has 120 or something headroom too in bpm and bane-yu in 23 place too(i think it\'s because they bpm over 45). Btw i make the video that you want in few days(where i can make time go slower booooo :D).

Oh no, I don\'t suspect anyone playing faster than me of cheating.
But - when someone new turns up, instantly occupying place 1, 2 and 3, playing faster, way faster than everyone else, and garnishing his feats with sneering remarks, this naturally raises suspicions.
I\'ve been under suspicion as well (someone said he thinks all the high scores were done with cheating and that they all should be deleted), and I think the video proves I\'m not cheating (and that I need to clean up my desk... ;) ).

Anyway, I look forward to your video.

Take it easy guys! ;)

I don\'t know the details, but BPM calculation it\'s kind of instantaneous; so, naturally, when you are playing on a level where block falling speed is faster than you, the pit starts to fill and blocks have a shorter way to go (i.e. more blocks in less time) -- that\'s why BPM increases rapidly right before finishing the game in almost all cases.
In my opinion, if some player managed to last a little more time with those extra-high BPMs is just because his/her pit was close to empty when level changed.

Thank you. Now I\'m convinced.
Most impressive, indeed.
