2.5:
-64bits support
-OpenGL is now used both on Linux and Windows
-Little graphics improvements
-Pratice mode improvements
-Improved the demo mode (Bot player plays better)
I installed the 2.5 32bit on a Vista system yesterday and blockout refuses to save the setup. I unfortunately cannot reproduce this issue on my development machine.
Does anyone experienced this problem ?
there might be some problems regarding saving of configuration and replay files under windows7 and up.
the solution for now is to execute blockout 2.5beta with admin rights - to do so, press right mouse button on the blockout icon in the startmenue and select "execute as admin"
New setup programs has been uploaded on sourceforge.
I changed the way local data are saved.
From now, local blockout data (setup, high scores and replays) are saved in C:\Users\(user name)\AppData\Local\Blockout.
How to retrieve your high score and config when moving from release 2.4 to 2.5?
===============================================================================
Uninstal Blockout.
Install 2.5 or newer release.
Launch the game (It should create the Blockout directory in C:\Users\(user name)\AppData\Local)
Go to the old blockout instalation directory (which can be the same than the 2.5 release).
Select "replay","hscore.dat","replay.idx","setup.dat".
Move them to C:\Users\(user name)\AppData\Local\Blockout.
Note that the Users and AppData directories may be hidden.
I've just installed Blockout Version 2.5 - It's working perfect.
As I'm using a widescreen-monitor, the image is stretched, when switching to full-screen view.
Is there an option to change to a "non-Default" resolution
1680x1050
1920x1080
Thanks for thinking about this options or adding addiotnal wide-screen resolutions.
You're right, the game can only handle 4/3 screen resolution.
I'll add the management of arbitrary screen resolution in the next release if SDL allows me to do that .
I let you informed...
just wanted to ask, whether development is still done and if there will be a version with support for widescreen-resolution in future.
I'm still playing Blockout on a rarely base.
