if you discover / know of a blockout clone, that is not already listed in the wiki, please post a link in this topic.

i will make the start with FEItrix, a quite nice blockout clone i recently discovered. i already added a wiki entry, please see here:

two new additions to the wiki:

AresTris: high quality graphics, but a bit lacking in gameplay:

Q4TRO: nearly professional 3d Tetris, that is rather a study in exploring new interaction possibilites with 3d worlds than a game

Hi Perry,

I must say you\'re did a nice clone ! I really like the radiosity FX (a bit slow on my config) , your bump effect on line and drop , shadow on the next block, line rendering... you\'ve done a very nice graphic job :)
I also liked the config editor.
What i don\'t like:
- Rotation blocked when the block in on side.
- Start move/rotate repetition too early, you often turn/move 1 times more the block.
- Key controls configuration needed
- Slider for volume
- Drop too much slow (a bit boring)
- Level 10 too slow, good player can play infinitely easily, unless you can go higher than level 10 (not possible in the setup) ???

I think i will get some of your ideas for mine ?
Do you see some inconvenient ?

Great job :)

Post edited by: jlp_38, at: 2008/01/15 17:40

But it is strange, the speed of moving, rotation and drop is the same... i can try to make there different and add they in in options.

Yes, it would be a good improvement.

1. do you want tell me: \"when the block is on side it could be move itself for do the rotation\"? except when it is impossible...

Yes this is exactly what i mean ;)

are you try to set \"Radiosity quality\" to zero? what cpu have you?

Yes, i tried all settings, I tried this on an old config, GeForce Ti4200 + P4 1.7GHz. Zero is roughly playable on my config.

With your hints, I made a new version!

I increased speed of move/rotation/fall and does a better rotation routine that move 1 block near the border if needed.

And changed the vol selection interface ;).

Again thanks!!

1 block is not sufficient. ;)
